Class Offerings
* Ballet (ages 7 and up) — It is recommended that every student take ballet, which is the basis for all other forms of dance. This class helps students develop technique in pointing, stretching, strengthening, and proper turnout.
* Pointe (ages 12 and up) — Only students selected by the studio director will be eligible to enroll in this class, and prior ballet experience is necessary. Any student in pointe class must take a separate ballet technique class.
* Lyrical (ages 10 and up) — Students must have experience in ballet before taking lyrical, which is an expressive form of dance that tells a story and conveys emotions through movements. Much of lyrical borrows techniques from ballet and is also influenced by jazz.
* Tap (ages 7 and up) — This form of dance encompasses syncopated rhythms and phrasing and can be performed slow or fast, depending on student’s ability.
* Jazz (ages 7 and up) — With its faster rhythms, jazz focuses on technique, body isolations, kicks, turns, and across-the-floor progressions.
* Hip-Hop (ages 9 and up) — Also known as funk, hip-hop is a fast style of dancing with numerous body isolations, similar to the choreography in music videos.
* Jazz/Hip-Hop Basics (ages 7 through 9) — This class combines jazz warm-ups and progressions exercises with beginners' hip-hop moves.
* Tutu Tots Creative Ballet (ages 2 1/2 through 4) — This class is for students who are being introduced to dance for the first time. It focuses on creative movement by using the imagination and beginner ballet steps.
* Tiny Dancers Ballet/Tap (ages 4 through 6) — In this class, students will do ballet barre and center work and learn beginner tap steps.
* Ballet/Tap/Jazz Progressions Level I (ages 6 and 7) and Level II (ages 8 and 9) — In Level I, students who have taken Tutu Tots or Tiny Dancers will combine the ballet and tap steps they have learned with jazz movements. Level II is an excellent choice for beginner students who have never danced before.
* Baby Boppin' Ballet (ages 1 1/2 through 3) — This class is suitable for younger children or those who are not quite ready to dance on their own in the Tutu Tots class. Moms, dads or guardians can join their kids for a fun, interactive movement-based class.
